Childless actress Cameron Diaz recently said that for environmental reasons we should ease up on having children: "We don't need any more kids. We have plenty of people on this planet." Population alarmist Paul Ehrlich recently made it quite clear about how immoral it is to have large families: "Ethically, having five children is the same as robbing a bank".

I have been utterly amazed to discover that a major newspaper recently carried an opinion piece by a Muslim spokesman advocating polygamy in Australia. If a Christian were to write an article suggesting something equally bizarre, it would never see the light of day. Or if it would, the only reason would be for it to be roundly condemned by one and all. But the Melbourne Age evidently thought it was quite alright to actually run with this nonsense, presumably because a Muslim was pushing it.

To be sure, there are all sorts of nutter groups out there promoting polygamy and polyamory at the moment. Simply type the latter term into a search engine, and see the multitude of sites promoting it. There are plenty of groups out there - some seeking to pass themselves off as 'respectable' - calling for the full legalisation and normalisation of polyamory.

Of interest, the very same arguments being used for polyamory (group love and marriage) are the ones being used for same-sex marriage: 'Hey, what's wrong with it if it is consensual, confined to adults, and doesn't hurt anyone?'

A raft of new legislation is being passed throughout the Western world. These laws are called by various names, such as vilification or tolerance or discrimination laws. Sometimes they are referred to as hate-crime legislation. Whatever their title, these laws are problematic for a number of reasons. While the intentions behind them may have been good (to reduce hatred and vilification, etc.) the outcomes have been far from ideal.

Proponents of PC are fuming that the Prime Minister should suggest that our public schools might be short of values and long on political correctness. He has created a firestorm of protest from the secularists and humanists by stating that more and more parents are sending their children to non-public schools. He said the reason they are being sent to private and independent schools is because of political correctness and a loss of values in public schools.
